Quotations

A price given from photographs is an estimate based on what those photographs show. It is not a fixed price until we have seen the wheels.

Quotations are valid for thirty days. If powder or material costs move significantly in that period we will tell you before starting rather than adjust an invoice afterwards.

Inspection and additional work

We inspect every wheel when it reaches us. Damage frequently hides behind a tyre or under an old finish and cannot be seen in a photograph.

If we find something that changes the job, we stop and tell you the revised price before doing the work. You are free to decline. Nothing is added to an invoice that you have not agreed to first.

If a wheel turns out to be cracked, structurally distorted, or to have insufficient material left to machine safely, we will decline that wheel and explain why. We will not refinish something we consider unsafe.

Turnaround

Most sets are completed within a couple of days of reaching the workshop. Structural repairs, two stage colours and custom matches take longer.

Timescales are given in good faith and are estimates. Curing schedules and the condition of a wheel once stripped can extend them. Where a job will overrun what we told you, we will let you know.

Tyres, sensors and fittings

Refinishing requires tyres to be removed. Where we remove and refit tyres we take reasonable care, but tyres that are worn, perished, previously damaged or of an age where the bead has hardened can be damaged during removal or refitting. We cannot accept responsibility for damage to a tyre that was already in that condition.

Tyre pressure monitoring sensors, valves, locking bolts, centre caps and other fittings are handled with care and refitted where they are serviceable. These components have a service life and can fail on removal. Where a sensor or valve fails we will tell you and quote for replacement rather than fit something without asking.

Please tell us before collection if the vehicle has locking wheel bolts, and supply the key. Without it we cannot remove the wheels.

Collection and delivery

Where we collect, we will agree a time with you. Someone must be present to release the wheels or the vehicle.

Wheels are inspected and their condition noted at the point of collection. That record is what we work from if a question arises later about pre existing damage.

Payment

Payment is due on completion, before the wheels are returned or released, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

Where a deposit has been taken for materials bought specifically for your job, such as a custom colour, that deposit is not refundable once the material has been ordered.

Our guarantee

We guarantee our work. If you are not happy with the finish when you see it, we will put it right and redo it. Everything is done in our own workshop, so there is no third party to argue with about who is responsible.

This covers our workmanship and the finish we applied. It does not cover damage occurring after the wheels have left us, including kerb and pothole damage, damage during fitting by a third party, corrosive wheel cleaners, or ordinary wear of a finish over time.

Nothing in this section reduces your statutory rights.

The limits of refinishing

Some outcomes are inherent to the process rather than defects in the work. Colour varies between powder batches, welded and heavily corroded wheels can retain visible imperfections beneath lacquer, diamond cut faces can only be recut a finite number of times, and inner barrels and hub interiors carry a less even coat than the visible face.

We set these out in plain terms before you commit rather than after.

Liability

Our liability for a job is limited to the cost of the work you paid us for, which will normally mean putting the work right or refunding it.

We are not liable for indirect losses such as loss of use of the vehicle, hire costs or lost earnings.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Uncollected wheels

We will contact you when your wheels are ready. Where wheels remain uncollected and unpaid for an extended period after we have told you they are finished, we may charge a reasonable storage fee, having given you notice first.

We would always rather reach you than charge you. If circumstances have changed, tell us.

If something goes wrong

Ring the workshop on 01698 640 171 or write to help@diamondcutrimz.co.uk. You will be dealing with the people who did the work.

We would always rather look at a wheel than debate it over the telephone.

Your legal rights

As a consumer you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including that services are carried out with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.

These terms are governed by Scots law and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction.
